Newfoundland Labrador Islands

Newfoundland is an island with thousands of islands around the coast and off Labrador. Some of them have people living their year round and many have cabins dotted along the shore that residents visit in the spring, summer and fall.

I recall as a young person many families moved from some of the islands to resettle in towns on the main island of Newfoundland.

This was during resettlement.

There are islands in many of the freshwater ponds and lakes throughout both Newfoundland and Labrador.

The following are islands that are inhabited year round and have a ferry service.  We have placed links to town websites where available. Links are in green.
